I received the Spring issue of Interweave Knits today. Upon my initial perusal, I really liked the following patterns:
- Sunrise Circle Jacket by Kate Gilbert - This pattern is actually available online and features a very unique construction.
- Simply Lovely Lace Socks by Karen Baumer - Aptly titled, instructions for these socks are given for both sport and fingering weight yarn.
- Drop-Stitch Hoodie by Theresa Schabes - This pattern is worth the price of admission to me. Not only does it have a zip-front, the hood and sleeves also have zippers. (Hmmm, is my inner 80's girl showing?) I'll probably be hating myself when it comes to sewing all those zippers in, but hopefully, like child birth, the end result will make me forget all the pain. (Or so I hear, anyway - I'll have to take their word for it.)
A couple of other patterns may grow on me - perhaps after I see some intriguing version out there in blogland. In addition, there is an article on intarsia by
Leigh Radford which may prove timely for my next incarnation of
Nothin' But a T-Shirt.
