Saving Daylight

posted 3 April 2005, Sunday

I love the change to Daylight Savings Time so I was very happy to spring all our clocks forward this morning.  The days are already getting much longer, and then suddenly the evenings get an extra bonus hour of light.

Today John and I ventured up to an area somewhat close to where we will be moving.  We ate in a restaurant there and browsed a bookstore.  Later we were the wireless wonders lounging at home on the couch with our laptops.  Just about our ideal way to spend a day.  I know our crazy fast-paced lifestyle isn't for everyone!  ;)

Yesterday I started swatching for my entrelac pillow with the infamous Lion Brand Homespun.  First of all, I didn't find it nearly as difficult to work with as I had anticipated from the horror stories I'd heard.  Probably because I had feared the worst.  Secondly, I was stunned to find that my knitting is looser than the called-for gauge.  Usually I have to go up one or two needle sizes because I knit tightly.  Not the case with this yarn.  So the swatching continues now with size 9 needles instead of the recommended size 10.
