I haven't been knitting or blogging much due to the arrival of a certain book on Saturday.

I had pre-ordered it through Amazon, and they guaranteed that I would receive it on the release date. True to their word, this appeared in my mailbox right on time:

Notice how it is marked "Please do not deliver before July 16!" and "Do not open until July 16!" -- as if I would have obeyed the latter instruction for one second if someone hadn't followed the former.
On the brief occasions when I actually put the book down, I marked my place with my bookscarf.

Thanks to all of you who have complimented it and the pattern I posted for it. Have any of you made one yet? In different house colors? I would love to see them! You may send your photo to lkmiller(at)gmail(dot)com.
Last week as I was waiting impatiently for my book, I bided my time by listening to CD's of the previous books as I worked on my Cotton-Easy Donna. I am almost to the point where I will start the short-row shaping.

Did you hate the ending as much as I did? I queued up on Saturday morning
at my local book shop and purchased it the second it was available and had
finished it before going to bed that night (Book went on sale at 9:01am Sat
in Australia) I feel so angry with the ending!!!! Why did she have to do
that?????
I ordered my book from Amazon, too. I cried at the end, but I sort of
thought that it would happen sooner or later. It made sense to me that it
happened. I was sad about it, but not angry. Laura, you didn't say what
you thought about the book.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. As far as HP6 goes, I didn't really hate
the ending but I was stunned at how it happened. She has really set
herself up for quite a finale--I'm already counting the days until book 7.
I cannot wait until more people have read the book-I have a couple of major
questions but I haven't posted them for fear of giving too much away. I
plan on starting the first of my three bookscarves today or tomorrow(I'll
email you pics when I'm done--thanks again for the pattern).
I just finished a bookscarf! Thanks so much for the clever idea! Wish I
had the patience to make a beautiful one like yours in the finer yarn, but
if I tried to make it, I'd never have time to read the books! ;0)
