Yes, there was yarn under my Christmas tree! It's something I've never seen or heard about before labeled AlplacaWare, Superfine Alpaca Yarn. It's a heavenly soft, 50/50 alpaca/wool blend in fingering-weight. Has anyone worked with it? If so, any thoughts on it?
The pretty copper color is something I myself wouldn't have picked out (I tend to choose blue, blue, and more blue), but I do like it nevertheless. I have ten 50g balls of approximately 180 yds each. I want to make something for myself that's lacey -- otherwise, the warmth of the alpaca might prove too much for me. I'm not sure exactly what though -- shawl, shrug, cardigan? It should be something I can bail out of easily in case it does get too warm. Does anyone have any pattern suggestions? I'm open to crochet patterns as well as knitting.
