A little over a month ago, I knitted up a couple simple hats and mailed them off to my friend Nick.
Pattern: Halfdome by Jesse Loesberg.
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in 506 (dark green) and 611 (burgundy). I used just over one skein per hat for the adult size. Avoiding the need for a second skein of the main color is probably why the original pattern starts off with a little bit of a contrasting color.
Modifications: Converted the pattern from flat knitting with a seam to knitting in the round. Switched the grey roll brim for k2 p2 ribbing in the main color.
Notes: I cast on in the ribbing pattern by alternating the knit and purl versions of the long-tail cast-on. The top shaping gives the hat a snug, smooth fit, and it looks really neat as well.
