My whole day revolved around getting new tires for my car. What a pain! First, we went to one Walmart where we learned that it would be over two hours before they could even get started on my car. They suggested that we go to another Walmart in the area that should be quicker because they would have more people working. We headed over to the other one and were told it would be done in about an hour and a half to two hours. Still longer than ideal, but since we had already invested enough time in just finding a place to get it done, we decided we might as well just go ahead.
Fortunately, there was a movie theater right next door. Unfortunately, the one movie we really wanted to see, Be Cool, wasn't playing for another hour. We settled for Hostage with Bruce Willis which was starting in only twenty minutes. We should have just waited for Be Cool. If you are getting impatient for the next Die Hard movie, Hostage is just the thing to tide you over for a while. Since I had heard nothing about this movie, I had no clue what to expect. With each preview, I grew more and more apprehensive, since they are geared to appeal to the same audience as the movie they proceed, and none of them were appealing in the least to me. Going in with this low set of expectations, it actually turned out to be a tiny bit better than I thought it would. Given a choice between this and wandering around in Walmart for a couple of hours, I'd choose this again. Of course, this is really not saying much coming from me since I normally avoid Walmart at all costs. One note of interest is that Bruce Willis's real-life daughter Rumer has a small part playing his on-screen daughter.
Once we got out of the movie, two hours and change later, we headed back over to check on the car and discovered that they had just gotten started. Grrrr! Since we still had some waiting to do, I headed in to see what I could find in the yarn section. I picked out some Lion Brand Homespun in the color Montana Sky and a pillow form for my Entrelac Pillow. At last after the entertainment of watching the hub caps being put back on, we were back on the road again. Pretty much the whole day shot, but at least I managed to get some knitting supplies. Soon I will be able to have a first-hand understanding of the whole Homespun controversy. Apparantly, it is quite the love-it-or-loathe-it yarn with the loathe-it crowd certainly being the more vocal of the two opposing camps. First, I must finish Cables for Nick though because Nick is beginning to wonder if I ever will.
