John and I went to see Sahara tonight. It was fun -- a combo of Indiana Jones and James Bond crossed with Mel Fisher. I have never read the novel it's based on (or any Clive Cussler) so I don't know how faithful it was to the book. At any rate, it was a pretty good tide-over until the big summer movies.
In other exciting news, I bought a couple new pairs of jeans. I was in pretty desperate need. I was down to about one wear-out-in-public pair. I got them at Lane Bryant -- home of the hands-down, best-fitting, most comfortable, larger-sized jeans around.
While I was shopping, John was waiting next door at Barnes & Noble. I went over there to meet back up with him and picked up a copy of the Spring/Summer Vogue Knitting magazine. I haven't really given it a close look yet. I just skimmed through it in the store long enough to see that there were a few things I liked (if only just for ideas). The actress Courtney Thorne-Smith is on the cover. I didn't even recognize it was her until I flipped to the article inside. I guess it's because I'm not used to seeing celebrities on knitting magazine covers. I really should just break down and get a subscription to VK since I usually end up buying most issues anyway. I have resisted up until now because it often seems at least at first glance to be just too "vogue" for me. However, once I get past the weird fashion photography, I realize I do like many of the designs themselves. After all, most of them are from the same designers whose work I admire in Interweave Knits.
