I've just started reading Eldest
, the second book in what will be a trilogy by Christopher Paolini. I really enjoyed the first book, Eragon
, and I'm eager to find out if some of the speculations I made are revealed to be correct or not in this one. Even after finishing the first book, I'm still amazed at some of the negative reviews on Amazon which basically condemn both books as being too derivative of other fantasy works. Perhaps some of it can be chalked up to simple jealousy of the talent and success of the author at his young age.
