I'd Rather Be Cruising
Yesterday John and I were down by the cruise ship pier in San Diego Bay and witnessed a rare occurrence here -- three cruise ships in port at the same time.
After three days in San Diego, The World of ResidenSea will continue on her constant circumnavigation of the globe. While you can book a stay onboard as a guest, most of the passengers are actually residents who own apartments on the ship and can live aboard for as long as they like.
Holland America's Amsterdam was getting ready to depart on a 15 day cruise around the Hawaiian islands and back. After repeating this itinerary a few more times, she will transit the Panama Canal, cross the Atlantic, and spend the summer cruising the Baltic.
Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas is a regular San Diego visitor. She departs out of Los Angeles every Monday on a four night cruise which includes San Diego as its first port of call.
