Boundless Blue Bound Off

posted 26 January 2006, Thursday

This blanket has actually been bound off for quite a while now, but I hadn't gotten around to weaving in the ends. In spite of the extraneous strands of yarn hanging out here, there, and everywhere, we'd gone ahead and started using it anyway. Earlier this month I was lying on my bed wrapped up in it trying to recover from a pretty nasty cold. Since neither I nor the blanket had any plans to go anywhere anytime soon, I thought I might as well get those ends woven in. I fired up an audio book, grabbed a tapestry needle, and set to work. A few hours later I was cuddled up in my finally officially finished blanket.

OMG! How long does it take you to knit that thing up??!! O.o

BTW, thanks for your comment and suggestion about what I should do with mirroring the pattern....however, since I'll be using variegate yarn, I don't think that knitting up two pieces and grafting them together would be a good idea, because I doubt I'd get the end of the colour right. Moreover, the body, i.e. the middle will be in basket weave and not St sts. So, grafting them up together would look kinda funny.

Wow! What a project. I'm making a similar purple blanket, but don't plan on it getting that big.
